I made a post not long ago about LXPanel freeze & LibreOffice. Some nice people on the list gave me a workaround [closing the LiO documents in the same order I opened them]
Now, since Fedora LXDE 13, I am annoyed by a bug: I lose keyboard input in a Java application (Freemind) after a few minutes. I found a similar bug on Launchpad, see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ibus/+bug/481656 and I opened one with my distribution, see: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800736 To finally find out that: LXPanel is once again the culprit. At least on my system. Removing the ibus panel icon from the panel is a workaround (great!). I am not sure if my configuration is in cause? I use 2 input languages, I rely on i-bus only. And i did not configure keyboard input as in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=710496 But, I use 2 (very) old notebooks. Same OS and settings. The one with an Intel GPU is not affected at all with any of the LXPanel problems related here. The other -- old pentium VI, Ati 900 Mobility -- is a "LXPanel bug magnet". Bug 710496 is a little difficult to follow. I am not positive that a Xorg file would solve the issues I encounter (LiO, Ibus, and Firefox panel icons - so far). But I welcome some advice. Else, will the situation of the LXPanel improve on Fedora 17 LXDE, or the next Lubuntu release, or not yet? Although, I do like LXDE over XFCE, the lxpanel is such a long standing annoyance on this particular notebook, I might try XFCE[1] as DE for my next install? here to I welcome some feedback if some of you also use XFCE.
