I do not want to participate in or heat up any "taste wars" and do
not want to push for "_my_ favourite toolkit" but I like the chance to
escape Gtk.

Even http://lxde.sourceforge.net/faq.html says
"Q: How do you justify calling LXDE "lightweight" and "fast" when it uses Gtk"
 and
"Writing programs with gtk+ is really a pain..."
