As far as I know this problem is present in 0.5.10 and still in the
0.5.12 too, it's not your introduction. I haven't searched if it is in
the bugtracker (and yes, the lxpanel tracker is overloaded - over one
hundred of open requests in Bugs) though. The problem is "maximum size
of button" setting gives button fixed size instead of maximum. This bug
doesn't annoy me as I usually don't have so much open applications to
fill the taskbar and also I have separate panel for taskbar and it does
shrink buttons properly in that case - I believe screen size affects it
but allocated space in the panel does not.
