Not the first time I missremembered something... probably a different
desktop.

Apparently there is NO ground swell of need about this.  I do find it
very handy myself...

I don't see the right click option you reference.

I guess you mean the panel across the bottom when you say 'Taskbar'.
If so, my right click shows:

Right clicking directly on pager shows the same.
