Starting things manually will work. See /usr/bin/startlxde-qt scripts to
see what's envrioment variables are needed.
Please also start dbus correctly.

Lxsession itself checks existance of consolekit, logind, and upower.
However in lxde-qt, this part is handled directly by liblxqt, not lxsession.
Systemd should be supported when it's available, but it won't be a hard
dependency.
It's a waste not to use the resources if they already exists in the system
by default.
For distros without systemd, such as ubuntu, debian, and BSD, we can work
without systemd as well.
When systemd can be used to manage the desktop session, we only need the
settings daemon part.
When we need to do session management ourselves, then lxsession will do it.
Better integration with systemd is a must-have nowadays since most distros
are migrating to it.
However, keeping it optional should not be too difficult.
So let's not worry about this at the moment.
