Hello,
I'm trying to integrate lxqt-session with the existing configuration tools
and ran into a question.
Currently, the configurations are in lxqt.conf and session.conf.
Icon theme name and LxQt theme name are in lxqt.conf.
The window manager and other session specific settings are in session.conf.
I'd like to ask for comment whether I can merge these two.
The rationale behind this is simple.
It's possible that you want to use different themes for a user in different
desktop sessions.
For example, if you try to setup a public computer in a library, you might
have a single "guest" account, but want to have different desktop sessions,
one for ordinary users, and the other for accessibility support. Or you
just want to have lxqt-session with different flavors of window managers.
That's the purpose of the -c argument of lxqt-session.
It seems that other configurations should be per-session as well (in
lxqt-session config file), rather than being global (in lxqt.conf).
You may want to use different lxqt themes and icon themes along with
different window managers in different sessions. So it will be more
flexible if these values are per-session.
I propose that we move these config values to lxqt-session config file to
make them per-session and deprecate the global lxqt.conf which applies to
all sessions.
Besides, keyboard and mouse settings will go to the per-session config
file, too. (Actually they're in the lxqt-session HEAD already).
Comments are wanted.
If there are no objections, I'd like to continue with this change, and then
the integration between lxqt config tools and lxqt-session can be complete
and we can have a fully working DE.
Thanks a lot.
