I did some work on lxpanel recently. It now uses some libfm functions
and therefore some bunch of code was removed and libfm APIs are used for
it. Also plugins API was simplified noticeable to make it easy for third
party developers to create plugins outside of lxpanel code (yes, it does
not require lxpanel code presence anywhere, installed headers of lxpanel
are sufficient to create a plugin). Also "pager" plugin which appeared to
be buggy recently was replaced with "wnckpager" which now represents both
"pager" and "wnckpager" for backward compatibility. New lxpanel is binary
backward compatible with old plugins API so can be tested without update
of installed plugins if your plugins are recent enough (the src/panel.h
header was changed Sun May 19 2013 and some plugins might use it). Also
new plugins were added: built-in "launchtaskbar" and external "weather".
Everyone are encouraged to test them for any bugs. Version is set now to
0.6.99.0 as it is alpha version - bugs fixing and migration to new APIs
will be continued.
