Technically, they are... but using XShape rather than compositing means 
aliased curves.

I know I used themes with rounded corners in the pre-compositing days of 
KWin 3.x.

...now if only I could find the time to hack up the current Lubuntu 
windeco to have a significant color difference between active and 
inactive windows so I didn't have to settle for Onyx instead.

(Speaking of which, does anyone know if there are plans to port the 
current Lubuntu widget theme to Qt? Aside from the horrendously 
low-contrast scrollbars, I consider it perfect.)
