Right, the wiki page is severely out of date anyway.

The easiest method if you want to send patches is to simply clone and
build all the repos, which is pretty much what lxqt.git does anyway.
You can't rely on the submodule repo though, because if you're
planning to send pull requests you'll want your own git repo with your
own origins.
You don't have to build the whole suite though. I run my own git-based
packages on Arch and simply check out/modify repos on a case by case
basis when I work on them.
