I recommend starting with a few pull requests on github. I too am
curious what you'd like to work on. If you want inspiration, we have a
list of feature requests and bugs that need to be looked at before our
next release:

I would probably recommend looking at panel autohide (#134) or task
manager application reordering (#138). Not saying they're simple but
they should be well contained.
