Hello Milind,

Your version of Ubuntu is deprecated : EOL, end of life, since may 16th. You
would need a
more recent version and/or a LTS (they are better for most people).

You can test a USB stick with the tools provided by the distribution if any, or
you can
try to have it to boot in another machine to see if that works.

I have several questions for you:

* How did you prepare your USB key? Did you use Unetbootin? Live Linux ?
Something else?
Did you prepare it on a usb stick freshly formatted to fat32? (Which is how it
has to be
done)

* Have you already booted from USB on this machine, if not, have you set it up
in the
BIOS?
* What version Ubuntu did you use? The official one? The Lubuntu one ? Else?
* What are you saying about using Mac? Is that another machine? (Machines
running Mac
need a distribution specifically prepared for them).

* Have you tried using a nomodeset option on the kernel boot line at the start
of the
boot?

I don't know Fedora enough to advise something to you about it.

My advice for the time being, install zram-config, if the repository for your
version
still works, this might help you get through as it will allow for more
information to fit
in the RAM.

There are (recent) versions of Ubuntu which are lighter than others and can
work well on
your machine.

Regards,
Mélodie
