Hi, this is my first post.

Currently looking at replacing Unity with a DE development just like lxde, lightweight, dependable, rational in its design, without bells and whistles I will never use, AND with no launch-bar to the left of my leftmost stdout, the which makes me work "like an Egyptian"...

I am concerned that the new DE should be:
- configurable from the point of view of menu and expandable submenus (i.e. I just want to be able to change the menu' s and submenus' entries, rename them, move them around)
 - compatible with:
TLP (I don't see a reason why it should be a problem, but just in case)
Psensors with its embedded data in status bar,
the iBus language icon in the status bar,
       the icon for Skype,
the icon for Transmission (Ubuntu default BT).
Am I in the right church, sitting on the right pew ?
Thanks -ced.
