Hi list

I'm leaving for Stockholm soon and will be unavailable for couple of
weeks. Before that I'd like to take the opportunity to figure out
where we're at on the 0.9 release.

Several of the critical qt5 regressions have been worked around. There
are serious issues in upstream Qt5 which have been blocking things but
PCMan seems to have found a workaround for all of them. For now
that'll do but I'm hoping we can follow up with the Qt devs on some
real fixes.

Pootle has been set up for LXQt to run alongside LXDE and pcmanfm-qt
is already available there. Tomorrow I would like to try out a few
more things and I'd also like to figure out who (other than me) can
add people to language teams. We have several Qt translators who would
like to join the effort.
I will remain on call for emergencies and various issues with Pootle
if needs be. Just email me directly.

Speaking of translations: I will set up lxqt.org to be properly
translatable, but this will happen after 0.8.

The following issues are blockers for the release:
https://github.com/lxde/lxde-qt/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+milestone%3Amstone-0.8.0

#73: This is mine. It will be closed tomorrow.
#183: Paulo, you picked this one up. What is the status on it?
#206: One of the several upstream qt bugs to be worked around. It needs testing.
#254: Another Qt5 issue. I don't know the status on this one.

We'd like to have a release very soon - 0.7 is starting to be dated
and Qt4 support is becoming a burden. Once the milestone is cleared,
we'll do an RC1 and hopefully release final within 10-14 days.

Feedback appreciated!
