Hello, Here're some news about LXQt 0.8. 1. Thanks to the hard work of Luis, now libqtxdg can use the new QMimeDatabase and drop libmagic. He's updating the other components to adopt the changes. After the related PRs are all merged, libqtxdg is ready for a new release.
2. Welcome to our new developer, "P L. Lucas" (selairi), who has been working on improving our multi-head support. Now the new monitor configuration tool "lxqt-config-monitor" is part of lxqt-config. Originally we intended to use it as a temporary replacement for the broken lxqt-config-randr before it can be fixed, but actually lxqt-config-monitor has all of the features of lxqt-config-randr after Lucas's improvement. The new tool works pretty well. Please try it. If there're no significant bugs, this part is ready, too. 3. Other parts are ready as well since we've already done all 0.8 milestones in the issue tracker. (except for translations) If there're no objections or no critical bugs, I'd suggest that we do the lxqt 0.8 release within one week. After that, let's focus on Qt5 and migrate to kwindowsystem, which will allow full wayland support later.
