- -------- Original Message -------- Subject: LXDE and accessibility Date: Sun, 21 Sep 2014 18:30:01 +0200 From: Samuel Thibault <samuel.thiba...@ens-lyon.org> To: lxde-list@lists.sourceforge.net Hello, LXDE is currently completely completely inaccessible to blind users for a very small reason: the gail and atk-bridge modules are not loaded. The user can manage to get it to work by using a .xinitrc or .xsession file containing export GTK_MODULES=gail:atk-bridge startlxde But this is far from user-friendly, let alone beginner-friendly. On gnome or xfce for instance, this can be enabled from the "accessibility" icon of the control panel, which sets a gconf (resp. xfconf) value, which makes the desktop startup tool enable the module for the whole session. Could something like this be introduced in lxde?
