That error means you are not the package maintainer and, of course, you cannot add his signature. When you reached that point, you have already built your package, it just left without digital signature. Read packaging manuals to answer further questions to yourself, please. And BTW, version 1.2.0 is old, use 1.2.3 with many bugs fixed instead.
