Dear all,
I'm having a major issue I'm trying to solve where users are routinely
losing data because they don't see a "safely remove" option in their menus
and so just unplug the usb device.
>From within PcmanFM I see a "eject media" altho considering the light
status on the USB key that doesn't look poweroff to me. Even if this was
correct tho, I don't see how to have the action show up in the context menu
on the desktop for a usb device icon.
the "right" way seems to do an unmount followed by a power off and I'm
trying to put this in an action but not having much success. This is the
closest thread I could find related to the issue:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/633027/eject-usb-drive-action-for-pcmanfm/633050
can anybody shed some light on how this could be implemented? I don't see
how to get that action to show only for the usb devices mounted, and I
don't see how I'm getting the device in question as a parameter to my
script.
thanks in advance,
Spike
