Hi there,

I'm having troubles figuring out what's the best way to take lxqt for a
test run.

First off, http://lxqt.org/releases/ mentions 0.10, but that seems old (nov
2015) altho Lubuntu 16.04 ships Version: 0.10.0-2.

Then there's the ppa, which seems to have 0.11
https://launchpad.net/~lxqt/+archive/ubuntu/ppa , is this the preferred way
to install on ubuntu to try it out?

That said, the only place I could find a version number set in the lxde git
repo is this:
https://github.com/lxde/liblxqt/blob/cd10d270b85b6e7cf1382c22bcad5e301a858c97/CMakeLists.txt

which lists 0.10, so I'm puzzled, I'm clearly missing something somewhere.

Also I found https://intialonso.github.io/ which seems to be using the PPA.
Is that a good way to test?

last but not least, assume I got lxqt installed (trying to build from
sources now following https://github.com/lxde/lxqt/wiki/Building-From-Source),
how am I supposed to try it out? should I drop to a shell and startx or
something?

appreciate any help and/or pointers.

thanks,

Spike
