The repository at github.com/lxde is not needed the first time you want 
to contribute to the translations but can be useful if you want to 
update the cloned repository in your GitHub account at a later date, e. 
g. when some additional strings were added.

On the other hand I'm not under the impression that taking the 
repository github.com/lxde into account is making the (admittedly not 
too convenient) approach described in wiki page "Translation" even more 
complicated.
So did you face issues attempting to follow the steps depicted in that 
page? I just followed them once more here locally and everything seemed 
to work fine, but maybe I missed something.

Maybe we should state that a string like "_comp" in the name of a new 
branch does not make sense when a contributor wants to translate all 
components. But on the other hand the name of those branches is 
completely arbitrary anyway.
