It probably does, to an extent. On my LXQt desktop, meteo-qt also pulls
the information from OpenWeatherMap and I just looked at that
information. The sunrise/sunset times differ by one hour and those are
accurate. It shows today's Sunrise at 05:17 and Sunset at 20:20. If the
LXDE weather applet is pulling information from the same source, then
both should display the same information.
There is a non-Qt application called 'meteo', which may be the GTK
version of the same, but my distro does not offer it.
