Raspberry pi using LXDE is a big advantage. Talking and cooperating with other distros also might be good idea.

In looking at the RaspberryPi release notes https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspios_armhf/release_notes.txt, it appears that LXDE is their default desktop.

The Wiki seems to be down, but LXDE has a forum at https://forum.lxde.org

Hi,

LXDE is the lightest and even though very stable DE I've ever experienced. And it is highly customizable especially with Openbox. IMO calling it "dead" is unfair. I think there is lack of advertisement that many people are not aware of LXDE. Most people think LXQT is successor of LXDE or something but this is not true. It unfortunate that Lubuntu switched to LXQt from LXDE. but hopefully Debian based RaspberryPiOS is using LXDE by default. Besides unfortunately with improve of high spec computing nowadays, people prefer graphical fancy desktops such as Gnome and KDE. I think with good advertisement and maybe with small modern changes such as default theming, logo, wallpaper ..etc LXDE can appear more attracting. Maintaining official website, wiki, documenting, blog and github ..etc is also important. I hope LXDE team can find new volunteers to keep developing and keep it

Kind regards.

Hey!

Think LXDE is pretty much dead and LXqt is much more alive as it seems now
