I am not sure that I understand the proposal. Lynx currently reads
persistent cookies from and stores them in files (usually the same)
defined in COOKIE_FILE and COOKIE_SAVE_FILE in lynx.cfg. Are you
proposing that we discard the current cookie-jar mechanism for session
cookies and store them in another file? If so, how does that improve
the way that lynx works?
