There is no compiled SSL version on fink for legal issues not technical ones (you can compile your own but you need to install the development tools). There are plans to link have a work around this, by linking against the system SSL libraries, but the core fink members are working on migrating to the intel platform.

You do not need Developer Tools if you are using the "stable" version with no ssl support. And if you use fink commander you should not have any problem.

Umm, so... is there an SSL version for 10.4.x?
