I'm think you are making the problem too difficult. Anyone who
understands HTML, rather than just using a cook book approach, should
have no difficulty in knowing what to do to produce good text only HTML.
The only reason there is a problem is that people abuse web browsers
to try to produce a particular visible effect.

RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam,
that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work.
