I don't recall that the documentation says it works better with S-Lang (though my own changes in that regard have been fairly neutral). UTF-8 is poorly supported in Lynx when using S-Lang; it's been 5-6 years since John Davis offered to improve that situation. > everything seems to work better in urxvt than xterm. urxvt uses fontsets, which xterm doesn't.
