Your system needs to update its certificates. Look at README.sslcerts in the 
docs. 

Use the options [O] menu to bypass security, at your own risk. 

Since you have interest in the kernel I would familiarize with certificates. 
Trusting an unverified remote kernel source isn't good. At the least, verify 
the signature.
