fine suggestion.
In order to produce the best usable results as I have never runt trace, at
what point should I run the test?
as in, should I run the trace command then go through the steps producing
the error, or runt trace while in lynx after the error happens?

if you have disabled cookies in lynx, this might happen when trying to
submit a form to a server that requires cookie information from your
browser to determine the server's behavior upon submission of the
form.
in the absence of cookie info, the server might redirect your browser
to the page containing the form, which lynx obediently reloads
(clearing the forms).
enable cookies and try again, and see if that doesn't produce more
satisfactory results.

things are fine.
