Maybe not the solution you expected, but IMHO a solution for this
problem:

Use the free (as in free speech) web frontend to YouTube at
https://invidio.us/ — the URL paths are the same as with YouTube (e.g.
https://invidio.us/user/RealTime for the URL above or
https://invidio.us/watch?v=Yv0P1-gpEFc for the first video on this
page), but it's _way_ more accessible, has autoplay deactivated by
default, etc.
