People worrying about different versions of sed, awk, etc,
on different systems.

And, isn't NT going to include "MKS Tools" version of unix
tools (awk, sed, etc)?

SUGGESTION: the gnu stuff can be compiled almost anywhere,
including windows, nt, etc.

Perhaps the CONFIGURE or whatever can TEST the local
versions, trying some command, and seeing if the result
is "good" or not, and if not any good, then "suggest"
that the compiling-person download and install the gnu
tools.

(Of course, everyone "should" have them anyway, since they're
generally "better" than the "standard" ones, no?)
