This certainly describes my system, too.  During the daylight hours
Lynx _never_ shows greater than "2 KB/sec", and most of the time the
transfer rate is "0 KB/sec."

When I download using the ftp implementation on NetBSD 1.4.1, most of
the time it says "stalled" with an occasional flicker of 1Kb, but will
keep the connection open until I close it or the other side closes it.
I wonder, does Lynx recover from a "stalled" condition?
