I'm using 2.95.2 on Solaris 2.5.1, and (iirc) 2.8.1 on Solaris 2.7 (intel).
I don't have c89 on any of the machines that I'm using.

I hadn't noticed this (but can check my Solaris 7).  Usually I build against
all libraries (curses, ncurses, slang) that can be/are installed on a machine,
but use ncurses for normal work.

(But this is an odd bug...)
