Well, I cut n paste all the time, works ok for me (except sometimes
crashes the shelltool window I use for my kermit-dialout to my isp
shell acct, non-gui.  Crashes sometimes when I "paste" back into
emacs -- maybe has nothing to do with emacs, though).

By the way, it is also a (another) shelltool in which I run
emacs, but that's just where I invoke it from -- emacs comes
up in its own window, what kind I do not know.

(I hope what I say here at all relevant to this discussion.)
