At 10:36a -0500 02/16/2002, Al Gilman didst inscribe upon an
electronic papyrus:

>The personal mail address is needed for copy-self when sending mail, even when
>you do not wish to disclose it in anonymous FTP.
>
>There should be separate controls for more different cases where your email
>address is used.
>
>Having to flip into O)ptions to change your email of record (across all
>potential uses by the program) whenever you happen to want to do an anonymous
>FTP is not usable. Real users will never do it.

I, too, think this is the best solution. Example:

   General Preferences
Personal mail address : [EMAIL PROTECTED]

   Headers Transferred to Remote Servers
FTP mail address : [EMAIL PROTECTED]

who uses multiple email addresses (doesn't almost everyone now?)
