This is a very old version of lynx. If I recall properly, the default start file no longer exists. May I suggest starting with a more current version. You can always start as "lynx ." to start at your current directory. The Windows version of lynx is best started from a pif file pointing to a batch file that you create. Instructions are in the Win32 package from Jim Spath. Pointers to several different Win32 binary packages are on my web site, but I would start with Jim Spath's binary. It looks like you got the old binary from Wayne Buttles' site. That binary is of historical interest, but not the one with which to start. Pointers at "http://www.rahul.net/dkaufman/index.html".
