I'm not so sure but it seemd the compilation of lynx
2.8.5-dev.16 failed if one setted --with-gnutls
The error messages were as follows;

My system is Debian/GNU Linux with
civic:~$ gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 3.3.2 20030812 (Debian prerelease)
and
glibc Version: 2.3.2-3
gnutls7 Version: 0.8.9-2
