before I forget again: duplicating buffers misses things

I'm going to be very rude and not include names of routines and 
examples, but I've been forgetting to post this since december.

We have a routine to duplicate buffers and attributes, which I used in 
the mailmerge.  I discovered that it doesn't duplicate everything.  
Particularly, options such as which spelling dictionary to use are lost.

I don't know if this is really a problem in general.  I solved it 
separately for mailmerge.  But just in case this is important enough to 
fix for 1.0.0 . . .
