I'd like to add the Danish and Norwegian characters æ, ø and å, but
unfortunately they are not modifiers. They are special characters,
a bit similar to SS in German and the oe ligature in French, but
there are no logical way to get them with a modifier.
We should support a more general substitution mechanism, such that
for instance "special-key a e" would become æ, "special-key o e" would
become ø, and "special-key a a" would become å.
But we don't, so Danish and Norwegian is not likely to be supported by the
European keymap in LyX 1.0.
