Since LyX is based on other software, it is very difficult to say
that everything is ok.
As far as LyX goes, I think we are safe, but I have not checked
in detail. We should do a grep for time and date, and check
each item in detail.
Before you can conclude that LyX is Y2K safe, you need to conclude
that LaTeX, xdvi, ghostview, ghostscript, the shell, ispell, chktex
and all the other programs we use are Y2K safe.
To the best of my knowledge, this is the case. But beware that
a guarantee is very difficult to give without checking the source
of all of these programs.
You should do an experiment yourself: Set the date forward, and
see what happens when it wraps. (But if nothing strange happens,
be noticed that this is still no guarantee. It's only a hint.)
