It sets up the package to be relocatable, but the problem is
still there: lyx does not get configured *after* installation on the
local system.

Perhaps Phillip knows how to do it ?  (Ie, how to run a post script
for a relocatable package, when first you have to cd to a dir that
depends on prefix.)
