stanger & stranger with freebsd & options

I'm starting to thing that for some reason, the configuration menu is 
being ignored *entirely* in freebsd.

I've now found that, as with the default fonts, the zoom size is 
ignored after exit; it doesn't stay changed for the next launch of lyx.

I have to manually edit lyxrc to achieve this.
