..or he clicked cancel. The XForms function we use returns null for
cancel and an empty string in case the field was left empty. So when
we return an LSTring, this information is lost, since ( ! string )
doesn't work for string being an LString, does it?

So a default string doesn't help, as far as I understand it. Furthermore,
the user has to delete it before he can provide his own string.
