Hi
(if this gets to a list moderator: please forward this to the list if you
see fit. Feel free to edit it if you do)
I'm sending this to the list after I got an error in reply to a message I
tried to send to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .

Anyway - I'm now trying the hebrew lyx patch. Looks good.

To allow me to input hebrew from a hebrew keyboard I created a iso8859-8
charset file. Actually - I simply took the iso8859-1 file, and added
simple mappings for hebrew chars. I'm not entirly sure that it is correct,
(but it works). The only problem is that if a hebrew kmap is used some
characters get to be converted twice (for instance: "'" is converted by
iso8859-8.cdef to ",", but then it is converted again by hebrew.kmap, that
thinks that it is a "," key pressed, and converts it to "\tav".

I also have a beggining of a hebrew po file (it includes all the menus and
some messages), which can be found at:
http://www.technion.ac.il/~tzafrir/HebLocale/lyx.po.gz

(I'm not sure I will keep working on it)

BTW: to quote the error I recieved:
