Support for MinGW has not actively been dropped. Fact is that MinGW (and cygwin) lack some library support for 4byte character types that we need. Face it: MSVC is better than gcc on windows in this area. Enrico posted some cygwin workarounds, they should work on MinGW, too. Georg
