I have a question regarding the a problem I encountered while writing the
hebrew translation of the interface:
Since most of the menu in the hebrew translation are in hebrew letters
there is usually not much of a chance that the menu items will have
underlined key bindiings marked. This makes the menus somewhat less usable
with the keyboard, because one have to remember the key bindings in
advance.
The only way around this I could figure out was t prefix every menu item
with "<l> " (assuming the item is bound to "l" in that menu). This looks
a bit ugly. But could not figure out any other way.
Can anyone suggest any other way that would look less bad?
I believe that it is technically not possible to use hebrew letter for key
bindings (as was done in, say, hebrew msoffice apps), and even if it were
possible and easy enough to use, I don't think a translation should change
key bindings.
A few other things:
* Is it possible to optionally have the locale selected from within
lyx? The simplest thing would be a simple lyxrc directive that (if
set) will cause lyx to change the value of LANG on lyx startup.
It would be nicer to have this availble from the GUI, but I'm not sure
exactly it it is worth the trouble.
* Is there a simple way for me to automatically add new strings to my po
file? I can probably copy any string that I see that is not
translated. But is there an easier way?
