Please not. I don't want my screen cluttered with 10 windows if I have 10 documents opened at the same time, because I can only work with one at the same time. Having the option to have a new window is ok, though. > * Add a Window menu to switch between the windows (instead of the > entries in the View menu) Why not simply having the entries in the View menu bring to the right buffer or window containing the document? > * Add a "New Window" option to the Window menu to create a new view of > the current document, which allows you to edit multiple locations in the > same document at once Maybe a "Clone Window"? > * Allow only one LyX instance at a time But a way to create a new instance if so wanted. > * Clicking the LyX icon when LyX is already running should create a new > empty document in the current instance This makes a pair with the previous one. > This is consistent with all standard office applications. This is not aimed at you, Joost, but frankly I am tired with this kind of argumentation, which IMO is due to the lobotomization performed by Word & Co. I am sure sooner or later I will see complaints that mathed doesn't behave the same as the Word equation editor... -- Enrico
