This is probably a false alarm, we had that already in the past. The windows installer contains code for downloading stuff from the net, some virus scanners misdetect that as a virus. The code is needed because the installer tries to help users with automatically installing some auxiliary programs that are needed for LyX. Please try other virus scanners. Do they report the same? You should also report this to F-Secure, so that they could check this and update their scanner if it is indeed a false alarm. If you believe that your virus scanner is correct you should consider to wipe your harddisk and reinstall everything. Safe recoverey from a virus infection is impossible without reinstalling from known clean sources. Georg
