I clearly prefer approach B.
May I remind you that we can have two selections for two windows?
This was a typo ;-) I meant A.
If
we follow approach B, selection in window A should be cleared when we
select in window B.
Please no. I want to be able to select something in a file switch to
another view and find again my same selected text when I come back. This
is very useful when you want to copy again the same selected text. All
word processor that I know do that.
Then, it comes to the cross-window middle-button paste problem. Right
now, middle-button paste pastes selection in its window.
This will be fixed but is independent from the above discussion.
Middle-mouse pasting should use the last selected text, period.
