This is actually one part of the code that could also be used for layout type captions. It was not implemented before, but it could be adapted easily to layouts. It would be nice if somebody could make a list of 1) regressions of the inset approach wrt the layout approach 2) bugs of the layout approach that are fixed with the inset approach 3) all open bugs other than those in 1), and for each bug how difficult it would be to fix with the inset or layout approach. Then we would have a better picture. Georg
