Is the plan to integrate this into LyX itself? I'd imagine that it would become a dialog in the Qt frontend, no? Would require that it be re-written in C++ of course, but that's probably trivial.
I don't know if this porting to C++ is so trivial, especially when
I'm not that familiar with either C++ or java.  C is what I do best.

My plan so far is to make this run on linux . That is supposed to
be easy enough - just install  java runtime stuff.  Then I'll
have a look at what is missing - currently this program don't
support every .layout construct and so it refuse to load the
files distributed by lyx for example.

So it'll be a standalone thing for now.  I hope I at least can
get it into a useful state though.
