Cannot reproduce that. For me, it always restores the same setting.
i have this behavior in beta2 and changeset 17929
So the behavior (at least in this case) is the same as i expect from the
"restore" button.
This leads to the above question: What does "use class defaults" do? can i
set the e.g. in the layout file (i didn't find a possibility in the docs)?
You can change the class defaults by pressing "Save as class defaults". Then
the current settings will be used as default.
In changeset 17929 the button is called "save as document defaults"
